Kenyans on Twitter Defence Forces

A new force has emerged. A force that nobody knows the source. A force of made up millions of unknown people joint by one mission, to fight using their fingers. A force that cannot be disturbed. A force that will not be the last to stand even in the wake of retaliation by the self-proclaimed gravity movers. This force will pounce on you and tear you then leave you in tatters. This force has resisted eternal forces from all over the world.
CNN can attest the magnitude of this force. In July 2015, The United States media organization referred to Kenya as a “hotbed of terror”, in the context of President Barack Obama’s visit to Kenya. “Obama is not just heading to his father’s homeland, but to a hotbed of terror. Terrorists in East Africa are now posing new worries for the President’s trip to Kenya this week,” the broadcaster reported on its website. The network quickly changed the story from “terror hotbed” to Obama’s “father’s homeland.” This was after #SomeoneTellCNN erupted with the force accusing the network of making a misleading news. The United States is not only the nation that can attest but Nigeria, (shockingly) Tanzania and Uganda (smh) can also attest to this.
From within, various celebrities and government officials have also faced the wrath of this force. This has eluded from both their words and actions. People such as Jimmy Gait, Mutahi Ngunyi, Aden Duale just to name a few have all fallen victims of the force. Furthermore it is claimed that the force has drowned “some elite banks’ in the country.
In November 2015, The Spectator published an article about Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s President, making comments towards the Kenyan public. The article stated, “Those people of East Africa shock me with their wizardly stealing. Sometimes, I tend to believe that stealing is in every Kenya’s blood. You can even think that there is a subject in their universities called ‘Bachelor of Stealing’.” Although there was no evidence on whether the president said such words, the force awoke this time attacking Zimbabweans on the words by their head of state. This was intensified by the hilarious memes at Zimbabwe’s financial status. However, after sometime, these words by the President were discredited.
Twitter Culture is now a ‘national pride’ in Kenya and the (“Twars”) Twitter Wars have become a sport among countries. But the undisputed champion of this sport is Kenya because of the force of the KOTDF (Kenyans on Twitter Defense Forces). I think this sport should be incorporated into the Olympics because we deserve a gold medal!
